My Rating – 3/5
Sankashta Kara Ganapathi is a romantic comedy Movie. The name means Sankashta (Hardship) Kara (Hand) Ganapathi ( Lord Ganesha and the Likith’s name in the movie). This is the story of a cartoonist who doesn’t have control over his hand movements. The movie attempts to provide a realistic picture of Alien Hand Syndrome and how it affects the daily life of a person afflicted with this syndrome.
The storyline follows Ganapathi, a cartoonist, in love with his classmate from MBA college, Shruti and their life as colleagues. During a phase of seizures at work, Shruti wheels Ganapathi to the hospital where he ends up professing his love for her. Unfortunately for him, Shruti is engaged to be married to Raghu.
During his hospitalisation and routine surgery, Ganapathi gets afflicted with Alien Hand Syndrome as a side effect.
The rest of the story is about the problems he faces because of his medical condition and how he wins over Shruti’s affection. Does he succeed? Is he cured of the condition? Answers to these questions culminating to its climax makes watching this movie worthwhile in a theatre.
With my friends after the movie screening:
Highlights of Sankashta Kara Ganapathi :
Direction, Story, Screenplay
Direction, Story, Screenplay – Arjun Kumar S has done a good job with the AHS concept. His screenplay could have been better by removing the portions of the movie that lag in between.
Both Likhit and Shruti’s characters are good and they look great on-screen as a couple by doing justice to their characters.
Achyuth Kumar and Nagabhushana N S have done a great job and their comic timing is superb.
Debutant Cinematographer Uday Leela has done an awsome job behind the camera.
Background score keeps the viewer engrossed throughout the movie. I had previously reviewed their Music Sankashta Kara Ganapathi – Music Review and I love it.
Vijay Chandra and Madhu Kumar have done a decent job.
A one time watch definitely. If you are planning to take your family out for a movie this weekend, then Sankashta Kara Ganapathi is a good choice.
